Take control of your hydration

Sports drinks have come a long way from their humble beginnings of salt, sugar, and flavor.  Over the years a whole range of experts have been involved in creating the “best” mixture to provide ultimate hydration, replenishment, and recovery for optimal performance.  However, in the search for the “perfect” solution, we may have missed the amazing way nature has already provided for us.  So instead of mixing ingredients that you can’t pronounce, how about returning to the basics?  Our bodies need water, electrolytes, and carbs.  You need each of them for different reasons and in different proportions depending upon your exertion. 

Give this basic recipe a try:

2 Cups of water (16oz)

2 tablespoons of lemon juice

1 packet of Pure Fuel (1 fl. oz of Organic Pure Maple Syrup)

¼-1/2 teaspoon of salt

Mix and adjust salt to your taste.

Play around with the ingredients to make it work for you. Not a lemon fan?  Try orange juice.   This is easily customized to better suit your taste buds or activity level.

Bottom line:  A packet of Pure Fuel and salt, added to a 16 oz container of water.  Voila! Instant hydration.
